What is AAUW? Since 1881, the American Association of University Women has been the nation’s leading voice promoting education and equality for women and girls. The Association has over 100,000 members nationwide, 1,000 branches, 600 college/university partners and last year awarded 4.3 million dollars to 270 scholars. We are advocates for women’s educational, social, economic and political advancement. For 130 years, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political. Our commitment to our mission is reflected in all aspects of our work.
